Slot Containers

Slot

Slot is a container that can be used for dynamic content. Slots are paired with renderers to deliver content to the page. Slots can either wait for content to be added to them (a passive slot) or they can call for it using a scenario. A scenario is an object that references a repository item and can be configured with actions and values to add content to a slot.

In a slot machine, a pay table is a list of symbols that may pay out credits if they line up on the win line. Most slot machines have a standard set of symbols that include the classic card suits, letters and numbers as well as themed symbols that fit the theme of the machine. The pay table is often displayed on the face of the slot machine, above or below the reels. On older electromechanical machines, the pay table was sometimes contained within a help menu.

In a health care setting, time slots can be used to organize appointment types with patients. For example, the use of time slots can be useful for scheduling urgent care appointments, routine check-ups and consultations with new patients. This method of organization can also be useful for scheduling meetings with staff members, evaluation reviews and presentations with managers. This approach can encourage open communication among teams and individuals and promote a healthy work/life balance. In addition, a slot-based schedule can help to prevent excessive overtime.
