Poker is a card game played by two or more players. It is a gambling game in which the object is to win the pot, which consists of all bets made during a single hand.
To play, each player must ante some amount of money (the minimum bet varies by game) and then receive his cards. When it is his turn to bet, he may choose to raise the bet or fold. The highest hand wins the pot.

If a player has a pair of kings, they can only beat another pair of kings. If there is no pair of kings, then the lowest hand is seven-5-4-3-2 in any suit. Observe more experienced players and practice to develop quick instincts. This is the only way to improve your chances of winning in poker. The divide between break-even beginner players and big-time winners is not as great as many people believe. Often, the difference is just one or two minor adjustments that will enable you to start winning at a high clip.
