Poker is a game of skill, strategy and luck. It is a popular form of card gambling in the United States and around the world, attracting players from all walks of life.<\/p>\n
A table, a pack of cards and some chairs are all that is needed to play poker. A shuffled deck of cards is dealt face up one at a time, and betting takes place in rounds.<\/p>\n
The player with the highest hand wins the pot. The rules vary by location and by the type of Poker game being played, but the basics of all poker games are identical.<\/p>\n
During each betting interval, each player has the opportunity to bet or fold. He may also raise (add money to the pot) or check (match a bet).<\/p>\n
