In a pot-limit game, the best possible hand is determined by the amount of money that the other players in the hand can afford to call. Thus, you are not allowed to bet or raise beyond a certain amount.<\/p>\n
To get started, the dealer will shuffle a deck. Then, he will deal the cards to each player, one at a time. Generally, a pack of 52 cards is used, but some variants use more than one deck.<\/p>\n
Before the cards are dealt, each player will place a small ante into the pot. If the ante is insufficient to cover the cards, the player will have to contribute a portion of his own money.<\/p>\n
