Before each hand, a player has to make a “buy in” bet. This is usually a small amount, such as $1 or $5. This is referred to as the ante. The player who makes the first bet is said to be the “first bettor”.<\/p>\n
After the first round of betting, the dealer cuts the cards and passes them to the left. After the fourth betting interval, the hole cards are revealed. A player can choose to check, call, or raise.<\/p>\n
A player may bluff by betting that they have the best hand. A hand that is five of a kind is said to be a Straight flush. A Straight flush is a five card hand in consecutive rank order.<\/p>\n
Another type of betting is the squeeze raise, which is made against multiple opponents during the preflop. In a squeeze raise, the player makes a bet that is more than their opponent.<\/p>\n
The lowest possible hand is 7-5-4-3-2 in two or more suits. The player who makes the highest hand wins the pot.<\/p>\n
Players can also discard up to three cards. These cards can be used to create another hand.<\/p>\n
